About Lorna Macaulay

I view my role as helping my clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves. I am non-judgmental and operate from a place of understanding, compassion and honesty. If clients are seeking change, I work to help them develop new ways of being in the world, enabling them to live lives that feel better for them.

As a Queer identifying psychologist, I am passionate about providing inclusive support that affirms my clients’ unique identities. This may involve exploring your gender identity, discussing challenging experiences from the world, or navigating the unique challenges that face the LGBTQI community.

I have training and experience working with neurodiverse clients. I support clients in moving through the world feeling more comfortable in themselves while always advocating for a more inclusive world.

I also have a special interest in supporting clients who experience difficulties in their lives and relationships because of trauma. I work with clients to discover new ways of engaging with their experiences, enabling them to move forward in a way that feels more beneficial for them.

My Approach

I provide a range of evidence based treatments that include:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Internal Family Systems Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
  • Mindfulness
  • Emotion Focused Therapy
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
